Alexandra Sánchez-Mitchell graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Syracuse University in 2011 and completed her Juris Doctor at the Inter-American University School of Law in 2014. She joined the firm that same year.
Mrs. Sánchez-Mitchell practices civil litigation, including commerical, torts, contractual, labor and employment. She has represented numerous clients before our local and federal courts.
Mrs. Sánchez-Mitchell has represented employers and unions before administrative agencies such as the Conciliation and Arbitration Bureau of the Department of Labor, the Public Service Appeal Commission, the Puerto Rico Office of Mediation and Adjudication, the Anti-discrimination Unit of the Puerto Rico Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the National Labor Relations Board, among others. She has also participated in collective bargaining agreement negotiations and has handled unfair labor practice complaints arising under the collective bargaining agreement.
While attending law school, Mrs. Sánchez-Mitchell worked at another San Juan law firm where she collaborated with a highly specialized legal team in torts lawsuits, under federal and state law, particularly medical malpractice. She also interned as a clerk during the summer of 2012 for U.S. Attorney General's Office, Civil Division, where she carried out in-depth legal research regarding the Federal Torts Claim Act, 28 U.S.C. Pt.VI Ch.171.
Mrs. Sánchez-Mitchell is admitted to the practice of law before the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico and its lower courts, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Ms. Sánchez- Mitchell is also a Public Notary.
