Miguel Simonet-Sierra

Miguel Simonet-Sierra has been outstandingly practicing law since 1992, after graduating from the Inter-American University School of Law. He worked as a summer clerk for U.S. District Court Judge Gilberto Gierbolini and for the Law Firm of McConnell Valdés. After graduating, Mr. Simonet joined the firm of López-Lay and Vizcarra and in 1997 was named proprietary partner of the firm. In 2006, he founded the law firm of Simonet Sierra, where he was the managing partner until 2015 when his firm merged and formed the law firm of Monserrate Simonet & Gierbolini.

Mr. Simonet is admitted to the practice of law before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico and its lower courts, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the D.C. Circuit. Mr. Simonet is also a Public Notary.

In April 2005, Mr. Simonet was elected President of the Association of Professional Labor Practitioners and in 2010 he was appointed by the Puerto Rico House of Representatives as a member of the Committee to draft the Puerto Rico Labor Code. Besides providing seminars and workshops to a myriad of employers, he has also lectured before the American Bar Association, the Association of Professional Labor Practitioners, the Inter- American University Law Symposium and The Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), among others.
