Alexandra Sánchez-Mitchell graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Syracuse University in 2011 and completed her Juris Doctor at the Inter-American University School of Law in 2014. She joined the firm that same year.
While studying law, Ms. Sánchez-Mitchell worked as a law clerk for the Law Firm of Indiano & Williams, P.S.C. where she acquired practical experience and exposure to substantive and procedural aspects of damages lawsuits under federal and state law, particularly medical malpractice suits. She also interned as a clerk during the summer of 2012 for U.S. Attorney General’s Office, Civil Division, where she carried out in-depth legal research regarding the Federal Torts Claim Act, 28 U.S.C. Pt.VI Ch.171, as well as drafted motions and legal memorandums.
She then moved to private practice by herself and later joined his father’s law firm. Mrs. Monserrate practices civil litigation, including commercial, corporate, telecommunications, environmental and construction law. She represented defendants in torts, contractual, commercial, telecommunications, construction and environmental claims before the Puerto Rico Superior Court and the U.S. District Court. She was the President of the Federal Bar Association Puerto Rico Chapter in 2008 and its First Circuit Vice-President from 2009 to 2011.
